Secret Invasion #1 from Marvel came out this past Wednesday. I finally had a chance to read it, and let me say it started out terrifically. A spoiler warning here. Reading past this intro will spoil it if you haven’t read it.

So basically the New Avengers went back to the Savage Land spot where their book first started. A Skrull ship crash landed there. The Mighty Avengers met them at the ship. Luke Cage opened the ship and out came the X-Men and Avengers from the Kree-Skrull War era wearing their 70’s costumes.

Meanwhile Jarvis uploaded a virus that took down most of SHIELD and Iron Man. Dum Dum Dugan took out the SHIELD space station. Hank Pym blasted Reed Richards with a gun that caused Reed to not be able to hold form. Needless to say all of these guys are Skrulls. Finally a Skrull broke into the Freedom Plaza and moved the building into the Negative Zone, and while there released the prisoners including Doctor Doom from their cells.

All that in the first issue. I can’t wait to see what’s in store in the next one. 🙂
